Rite of Whip and Suffering
“I am not here to save you. That can’t be done. No mercy, redemption, nor peace. I can only offer you another path. One that you must endure alone.”
Follow a lone paladin as she seeks to spread her faith and rid the world of its taint. Raised in isolation and tortured to the point of breaking she has no compassion, empathy, or remorse. She does what she deems necessary. In the name of her Goddess and faith.
Her name is Kain. An unwilling champion of a dark and silently worshipped religion. They believe that pain and suffering is simply a vehicle for enlightenment. They worship Verena, Goddess of Pain. Their rituals private and often brutal. Kain was chosen to bring word of their faith to light. To offer guidance to those that would listen and invite those who are willing. She does this because she must. Her words harsh and punishments bloody. She does not wish ill upon those that do her wrong. Nor does she see reason to rescue those that need it. Life is a burden. The suffering one endures is simply a test. One that must be passed alone, all she can offer is an opportunity.
